The history of St. Mary’s dates back to 8th July 1964 when three young enthusiastic and zealous pioneer arrived at Ujjain to open an English medium school. The tiny seed which was sown in 1964 has grown in a mighty tree now. In the span of 40 years, thousands of students have joyously spent their best years here.

Dear friends On 8th July 2010, St. Mary's Convent Senior Secondary School, Ujjain Completed forty-six years of its dedicated and commendable service in the field of education. Another four years and the school will celebrate the golden jubilee. It is hard to believe that this tiny seed has grown into a huge tree and in its span of 46 years hundreds of students have joyously spent their best years in its boughs. In moments like these let us say in unison with St. Mary's "THANKS” for all that has been and "YES” to all that shall be. Our former President Mr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam in all his interactions with students, stresses on one point agenda: Dream, Dream, Dream! Dreams transform into thoughts! And thoughts result in action. In June 2005 I took over as Principal of St. Mary's. Since then it has been my dream to have an association of ex-students and to bring as many as possible together on a common platforms. |

As we launch into SMA alumni, I am happy that my long awaited and long cherished dream has become reality. Albert Einstein has rightly said that "Education is what remains when, after one has forgotten, what one has learnt in school.” The school has always taught its students to go beyond the prescribed syllabus and curriculum. It has focused on teaching its students to be socially more conscious, professionally more honest and personally more responsible. I am aware of the fact that many of St. Marians are occupying high positions in different parts of our country and even abroad. The school is proud of you, because you are using your power of high position to serve your fellow being honestly, efficiently, gently and yet firmly. This way you keep the Motto of your school "LET YOUR LIGHT SHINE” alive wherever you are placed. I would like to conclude with the words of Martin Luther King "We have learned to fly in the air like birds and to swim in the sea like fish but we have not learnt the simple act of living together". May your presence inspire many others to have a little more concern for the people around; a human approach, an attitude of love and affection and a conscious and committed citizenship. Good luck and God bless you! |
